I’m Kevin Jordan (Number9) and I love movies, have since I was a kid. Six years ago, I saw the movie Jumper on a business trip. To say I was disappointed in that film is to say the ocean is a little damp and after spending a day and a half obsessing over how bad the film was, I decided to write a review. 240 reviews later, I’m still writing and still loving movies.
The whole point for me is to try to review a movie from the aspect of a regular movie watcher, not a stereotypical film critic that judges everything against Citizen Kane and hates Michael Bay because one of his movies makes more money than five years’ worth of independent art-house flicks. I want a movie to feature a story that is interesting and makes sense when you think about it for more than eight seconds. I want characters that do and say things for reasons that further the narrative and not because the writer simply wrote it down. I know I’m not the only one that hates plot holes and vapid characters. Most of all, I just want to know that a movie is worth my time and money and I want you to know that too. I’m also hoping to make you laugh a little (or a lot) while you read because too many reviews are dull as it is.
If you’re curious about what I thought of other movies (and have a lot of time on your hands), you can find all of my past reviews at http://number9moviereviews.blogspot.com.
